A watermelon market outside Jaffa Gate, also known as Bab al-Khalil in Arabic, just outside Jeursalem’s Old City walls, at the base of the citadel. In the scene, men and women are engaged in buying and selling watermelons. Some have brought along their animals, such as the donkey seen in the background.
